Keating's Shower of Towers consists of 16
different towers all arranged around a white quartz
stone that is nestled in the center of the swirl of
steel. This fanciful sculpture is part of a series
inspired by cell-phone towers that are “discreetly”
situated in parts of the landscape. He takes an eyesore
and turns it into something comical. Keating's sculpture
is a marriage between his passion for metalwork, art
and gardening.
In 2004, Bob Keating was awarded a grant from the Connecticut
Commission on the Arts. He recently had a solo exhibition
at Wish House Gallery, West Cornwall, CT and has exhibited
throughout the United States over the years. Notable
collections and commissions include AOR Studios, Bill
Blass, Mia Farrow, Skitch Henderson, Bernadette Peters,
and Isaac Stern |
