Cassandra Lozano has transformed the oval entrance foyer into a glittering grotto with an array of suspended Blossom Bombs. These bubble-like plastic globes contain shiny and transparent pastel-colored flowers with shimmering lights. These contemporary vanitas capture the brevity and fragility of life, and bring the vitality of the garden right through the gallery’s entrance.
Cassandra Lozano’s previous solo exhibitions include Christopher Henry Gallery, New York, NY; Y Project, New York, NY; and Dia de los Muertos/Day of the Dead Altar for Andy Warhol, The Andy Warhol Museum, Pittsburgh, PA. She received a Mid-Atlantic Arts Foundation Grant to be an Artist-in-Residence at the Fabric Workshop, Philadelphia, PA. She worked as an assistant to the artist Roy Lichtenstein from 1990 to his death in 1997, and is currently the Managing Director of the Roy Lichtenstein Foundation. She earned her BFA from the University of Texas, Austin, TX, and her MFA from Tyler School of Art, Temple University, Philadelphia, PA. www.christopherhenrygallery.com/lozano.htm
