Eung
Ho Park accumulates similar objects and arranges them
in simple but mesmerizing formations. Slight transformations
keep the original object intact, but change how we perceive
it. Sperm Spoons fills the stairwell with hundreds of
bent spoons wiggling upwards like a school of fish.
I’m Looking At You features bottle caps painted
like eyeballs, a conglomerate of watchful eyes peering
from the corner. Looking at this piece is analogous
to looking at a crowd of New Yorkers, in which people
can seem similar with a multitude of variations.
Eung Ho Park recently completed a public art commission
at P.S. 270 in Queens through the New York City Percent
for Art Program. He has exhibited regularly in New York
including Exit Art/The First World and Sarah Meltzer
Gallery in New York, NY. In Brooklyn he has exhibited
at The Rotunda Gallery, Side Show Gallery, among others.
Eung Ho Park will be leading a Family Art Project Bottle
Cap Caper, on May 22 and 23. |
