Dan Peyton, Forsythia, 2006 Propagating Eden: Uses and Techniques of Nature Printing in Botany and Art April 1—June 27, 2010 Wave Hill hosts the expanded version of this exhibition, organized by the International Print Center New York, which explores the ways in which nature prints have been used in botany, numismatics and art, and the technical means by which printmakers have captured faithful impresses. Dating from the mid-18th century to the present, the works in Propagating Eden include important scientific botanical treatises illustrated with nature-printed specimens, as well as works by 20th century and contemporary artists who have mined the potential of natural forms. Sunroom Project Space Rita MacDonald April 1—May 16, 2010 Working on-site during her residency at Wave Hill this winter, Rita MacDonald developed a project that explores her interest in decorative patterning. This wall-paper based installation is inspired by the shapes of the shadows cast from the Sunroom windows throughout the day. Takafumi Ide May 22—June 27, 2010 Takafumi Ide will exhibit a large-scale sculptural installation that joins depictions of Wave Hill’s expansive vistas with site-specific sound elements.
