The Visual Arts Program presents artworks in the galleries and on the grounds that engage the public in a dialogue with nature, culture and site.

Winter Workspace, 2012

 

Glyndor Gallery is closed until the spring exhibition, Tending Toward the Untamed: Artists Respond to the Wild Garden, and the first 2012 Sunroom Project Space installation, by Alejandro Guzman, open Tuesday, April 3, 2012.  Gallery tours will be held Tuesday and Saturday afternoons at 2pm, starting April 7.

 

Winter Workspace Program
Glyndor Gallery | January 3—March 25, 2012
For the third year of the Winter Workspace Program, artists use the rooms in Glyndor Gallery as studio spaces. Drawing inspiration from Wave Hill’s stunning natural setting, gardens and greenhouses, artists working in a variety of disciplines are in residence over two, six-week sessions. Participating artists in the first session (January 3 – February 12) include Carrie Beckmann, Danielle Durchslag, Sabrina Gschwandtner, Nick Lamia and Adam Parker Smith. The second session (February 14 – March 25) includes Gabriela Albergaria, Matthew Burcaw, Matthew Jensen, Nova Jiang and Cameron Rowland.

generated@wavehill: Branch Dances
On the grounds | Fall 2011 through Summer 2012
Wave Hill has commissioned award-winning choreographer Merián Soto to return to the Bronx, her artistic home, to create Wave Hill’s 2011–2012 generated@wavehill project. Soto will develop and perform Branch Dances at Wave Hill, a year-long work consisting of four outdoor performances, one each season, beginning fall 2011. The first performance is on October 29, 2011. generated@wavehill projects provide artists with the opportunity to create temporal work for the grounds.
