Kachuro-Rosenberg is exhibiting a series of photographs
that emphasizes the sensual potency of plants and
flowers. An emerging Bronx artist and a frequent visitor
to Wave Hill, her photographs capture the evocative
essence of flora she has observed growing in the gardens
of both Wave Hill and The New York Botanical Garden.
“My photographs strive to make plant life emerge as
articulate and highly individualized entities, more
than merely delectable objects capable of adornment,
propagation and other utilitarian applications,” says
Ms.Kachuro-Rosenberg. She adds, “I imagine and document
that, far from passive and stationary, they are nearly
vocal, almost confrontational, occasionally pensive
and subdued, often candid and confessional.”
Daydream, Thorn, Muse, and Undulating
, among other photographs exhibited, exemplify
the artist's ability to express the mood of her subjects.
