Miranda's exhibition, Florentina and Fibanacci,
Painting & Illuminations, highlights a series
of exquisite paintings that blend traditional techniques
with a contemporary vision. Creating her own paint,
she grinds stones, insects, and flowers, a method
that continually reconnects the artist, and those
who view her work, to the earth. She incorporates
the symbols and methods of ancient art, which often
used mathematical principles, into her own, connecting
image, content, and material with the past, present,
and future. Using Wave Hill's landscape as inspiration
for some of her paintings, Miranda says she is "dedicated
to a vision of art as a healing and spiritual practice."
Miranda's paintings have also been exhibited at Cape
Museum of Fine Arts, Dennis, MA; Kenise Barnes Fine
Art, Larchmont, NY; Carrie Haddad Gallery, Hudson,
NY; and Sakai City Museum Gallery, Osaka, Japan among
other galleries and museums. She is the owner and
founder of Miranda Fine Arts Gallery in Port Chester
New York, which specializes in exhibitions of contemporary
artists. She also co-founded Lofarts, an affiliation
of galleries, artists, curators, and educators in
Westchester County, NY and The Gabriel Guild, an arts
and education organization dedicated to medieval and
traditional art techniques.
