The New York Council for the Humanities and Wave Hill join forces to offer a monthly reading and discussion series. It is led by Dr. Tara Weiss, Associate Professor of English, Kingsborough Community College, who uses the work of science writers and novelists to explore the crisis and call us to responsible action. The series concludes with a discussion of Octavia Butler's Parable of the Sower, an examination of human life after a fictional environmental collapse and celebrates the human capacity for change. Final session.

Free with admission to the grounds, but registration is required, at www.wavehill.org, by calling 718.549.3200 x305 or at the Perkins Visitor Center when you next visit. Copies of the books are provided, and will be available at the Perkins Visitor Center as of February 12.
