Guided Tours for K−5th Grades
 

Wave Hill Environmental Educators lead these 45-minute tours, highlighting Wave Hill’s gardens by taking an in-depth look at flowers, trees, birds and bees. The mighty Hudson River serves as a major bird migratory route in New York State, sparking lasting awe and curiosity. Give your students an extraordinary chance to experience the marvels of the natural world on this experiential journey. Guided tours are offered Tuesday through Fridays.
Fee: $85 per tour for up to 33 students (one adult chaperone per 11 students). Registration required.

Come celebrate The Year of the Trees and connect with an amazing, international collection right here at Wave Hill! Autumn is the perfect time to learn about deciduous trees as fall foliage defines their life cycle. On a 45-minute tour, students observe trees and leaves and learn basic identification skills during this interactive experience.

Birds in the Garden: From here to there

Take in the beautiful views from Wave Hill and imagine yourself as a bird flying high over the Hudson River! Observation and investigation skills provide a challenge as students learn about birds’ bodies and behavior. Students use the tools of the birder as they look for and identify local and migratory birds.

Flowers to Buzz About
March−June 2010
Explore Wave Hill’s glorious ground on a 45-minute tour, observing the symbiosis of survival between bees and flowers. Students observe the behavior of bees as they buzz amongst Wave Hill’s gorgeous blooming gardens and “fly” to the hives to learn how honey is made.
