High School Internships

Young children, teenagers and teachers experience nature first-hand through Wave Hill's education programs. Outdoor, inquiry-based learning is the hallmark of these innovative programs, which use Wave Hill's grounds and local open spaces as living laboratories for natural science exploration.

Self-guided School Visits Self-guided School Visits
Guide your class on an independent exploration of Wave Hill's gardens, grounds and gallery. Prior to scheduling a reservation for a free-of-charge visit, each teacher planning a trip is required to participate in a mandatory orientation at Wave Hill. Orientations are held at least once a month and run after school.

School Partnerships
Multi-session programs with a hands-on inquiry approach support classroom study and promote active participation by students whether in the classroom, at Wave Hill, or in other natural areas of New York City.

Guided Gallery Tours Guided Gallery Tours
Schedule a guided tour of Wave Hill’s Glyndor Gallery for your middle school or high school students. Exhibition interpreters activate students’ observation skills and engage them in a rich dialogue about art, nature and science. This dynamic offering is sure to raise questions and enable classes to contemplate complex ideas in the context of contemporary art inspired by the natural world.
