Kerlin Institute for Teaching & Learning
A teacher who has learned by inquiry is more likely to teach by inquiry. Using inquiry methods in Wave Hill's gardens and woodland, teachers explore their curiosity and collect meaningful data in a fascinating world that is often overlooked. In this intensive, five-day course for K-8 grade teachers, participants use laptop computers, digital cameras and portable digital microscopes outdoors to record data. The Institute's staff will guide explorations so that educators can effectively teach science in the classroom and outdoors with greater comfort.

NYC Department of Education 'P' credits awarded upon successful completion of institute participation. Graduate-level credits from Lehman College of the City University of New York are also available.
