Japanese Red Pine (Pinus densiflora 'Umbraculifera')

This strongly sculptural form of the Japanese red pine has no equal. 'Umbraculifera' has a densely branched habit that brings to mind the appearance of an opened umbrella. The bark of the trunk and older branches is a beautiful orange-red.
