Train and Subway Shuttle Van Service & Schedule
Wave Hill provides free van service between the front gate and the Metro-North Railroad Riverdale station and the terminus of the #1 subway train at West 242nd Street.
Train
Metro-North Railroad Riverdale Station: Meets northbound trains at 45 minutes past the hour, from 9:45am to 3:45pm; returns visitors to the Riverdale station departing Wave Hill’s front gate at 20 minutes past the hour, from 12:20 to 5:20.
Subway
West 242nd Street #1 Station: Meets visitors at the terminus of the #1 subway train hourly at 10 minutes past the hour, from 9:10am to 3:10pm; returns visitors to the terminus of the #1 subway train departing Wave Hill’s front gate on the hour, from noon until 5pm. Passenger pick-up and drop-off are on the west side of Broadway directly in front of Burger King.
Accessibility
Wheelchair-accessible parking spaces are located in the onsite lot; access license plate or valid government-issued permit required.
The Perkins Visitor Center, Wave Hill House, Glyndor Gallery,
the Great Lawn and the Flower Garden are accessible. Wheelchairs
are available on request at the Perkins Visitor Center and Wave Hill House. Trained guide dogs are permitted. A courtesy cart is available on request at the front gate. For further information, contact 718.549.3200

Garden Etiquette
To ensure the safety of our visitors, gardens and plant collection, and to enable all visitors equal enjoyment, please follow these rules:
Use only Wave Hill benches and chairs. Other chairs or
blankets are not permitted.
Do not picnic on the grounds. Food is permitted only in
designated areas: the Glyndor Gallery Picnic Area and the
Café at Wave Hill House (Café food only). Alcoholic beverages
are not permitted.
Do not pick flowers, take plant material or climb trees.
Only trained guide dogs permitted. No pets allowed.
Use radios and CD players with headphones only.
No bicycling, rollerblading, kite flying, ball playing, Frisbee playing or sledding.
No tripods or easels in the Flower Garden, Wild Garden, Greenhouses, Dry & Herb Gardens or Alpine House.
Please be considerate when using cellular phones.
Photography and video recording is permitted at Wave Hill for private use only.
Professional or commercial photography is not permitted except by prior written arrangement.
Organized gatherings that occupy more than two tables in
the picnic area are not permitted. After hours private events
