Over 100 species of plants are nestled within the old stone walls of the Herb Garden and many of them are fragrant. Join Wave Hill Gardener Harnek Singh and Senior Horticultural Interpreter Jess Brey as they share what is most exciting and new in this garden at its intoxicating summer peak. Harnek Singh
Harnek Singh has been a full-time Gardener at Wave Hill for 15 years, where he has been responsible for almost every area of the garden at one time or another, from the show-stopping Flower Garden to the aromatic Herb Garden to the care of the succulents and cacti in the Conservatory. He has also been a guest gardener at many other notable gardens such as Chanticleer, Longwood and gardens on Martha’s Vineyard. When he isn’t gardening at Wave Hill, he likes to visit other gardens and museums, and he loves to cook!

Jess Brey
Jess Brey
Jess Brey is Wave Hill’s Ruth Rea Howell Senior Horticultural Interpreter. She leads seasonal walks, develops programs and writes, and provides images for, the monthly “In the Garden Now” email—and journal entries at wavehill.org—highlighting the garden’s unique collection, design and history. Jess has an MPS in Horticulture specializing in Public Garden Leadership from Cornell University.
