Moving Figments: An Art Meditation
Join exhibiting artist Sara Jimenez and meditation and movement teacher Kate Johnson for an intimate session surrounded by Jimenez’s fictional cityscape in Glyndor Gallery’s exhibition, Here We Land. Participate in movement, breath work, guided imagery and automatic writing as we contemplate imaginary futures and fragmented pasts.

Kate Johnson is a meditation and movement teacher based in Philadelphia. She is a faculty member of MIT's Presencing Institute, where she has trained hundreds of leaders and change-makers to use embodied, awareness-based approaches to systemic transformation. She is a certified meditation teacher in the Insight Meditation lineage. A lifelong dancer, Kate holds a BFA in Modern Dance from the Alvin Ailey School/ Fordham University, and MA in Performance Studies from NYU. This year, you can find her teaching about mindfulness, creativity and social change at Institute for Contemporary Art in Philly, the Rubin Museum in NYC, the Eileen Fisher Leadership Institute, Spirit Rock Meditation Center, the Omega Institute, and Kripalu. Kate is also working on a book about the radical friendship as a spiritual superpower, to be published in 2020 by Shambhala Publications.
