Neighborhood Ecology Walk

Meet at Wave Hill Front Gate

REGISTER

As urbanization increases, connected natural areas become vitally important in sustaining biological diversity and allowing plant and animal species to move from place to place. NYC-based naturalists Gabriel Willow and David Burg lead a revealing exploration through the Raoul Wallenberg Forest, Riverdale Park and Wave Hill’s Abrons Woodland to see firsthand how human activity, invasive plants and other factors have shaped the local ecology. Along the way, expect to see a surprising variety of trees, wildflowers, insects, birds and other animals that have successfully adapted to their urban habitats. Feathers and Flora Weekend event.

$20; 10% discount for Wave Hill Members. Registration required, online or onsite at the Perkins Visitor Center.
