With intimate gardens and spectacular views of the Hudson River and New Jersey Palisades, Wave Hill offers the most romantic setting in New York City for your unforgettable wedding.

Your ceremony takes place at the Pergola on the Great Lawn, with your cocktail hour there— or on either the Lower Lawn or the Kate French Terrace adjacent to historic Wave Hill House. Dinner is held in Armor Hall. Capacity there is capped at 130 guests, including a small band and dance floor in the Hall. If you choose to locate the dance floor nearby in the adjacent Mark Twain Room, then capacity is limited to 175 guests.

Weddings at Wave Hill take place only in the evening, with guests arriving after the gardens have closed to the general public. Only one evening event is booked per date to ensure your event is private and exclusive.

Renting Wave Hill for a private weekend event requires a Wave Hill Membership at the Sustainer Partner Level of $10,000. The tax deductible portion is $9,748, and provides the wedding host with one year of Member benefits at this special level. In addition to Membership, the rental fee for a private evening event on the weekend is $6,000. Guest arrival begins at 6pm with departure at midnight.

A guest count of 180 or more requires that a tent be installed on our Lower Lawn; with that, the Membership fee increases to $25,000. The rental fee remains $6,000. Greenwich Tent, our exclusive tent vendor, can install a basic tent with permits; the cost starts at $25,000.

Weddings scheduled from January 2 through March 31 are available for an off-season rate of a $7,500 Membership fee and $3,500 site fee. The guest count is capped at 125.

In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony would take place on the Kate French Terrace. The Terrace, which is 2/3-tented, can hold up to 125 seated guests. A larger guest count requires installing a tent extender through our exclusive tent provider, Greenwich Tent.

Wave Hill exclusive caterer Great Performances is dedicated to collaborating with you to create a personalized, quality experience for your guests. Passionate about culinary presentation, tastes and flavors that are crafted to enrich the occasion, Great Performances offers a proprietary element of style and innovative design that turns catering into an art form and events into celebrations. Pricing begins at $300 per person, and includes a customized menu, bar service, rentals and linens.

Onsite parking is not available for wedding guests until the early summer of 2021. Wave Hill’s visitor parking lot is closed for construction and guests will require valet service, bus service or car service.

Event planning services are recommended, and day of event planning service is required. 

Ceremony-only options are available Monday through Friday for up to 125 guests, from 6pm until 7:30pm. The membership fee is $2,500, and the site fee is $2,000.
