
Shuttle Driver
Helping ensure a positive visitor experience
The Wave Hill Visitor Services department is seeking a friendly customer service-oriented individual to work with clients and guests for shuttle transport to and from the garden. This position reports to the Manager of Visitor Experience and the Director of Business Development.

Job Responsibilities
Primary duties include:
- Shuttle visitors between the Wave Hill grounds, the offsite parking facilities, the 1 train at 242nd street, and the Riverdale Metro North station.
- Opening and closing the shuttle door for visitors and keeping the shuttle cool and comfortable.
- Greeting guests at shuttle pick ups, assisting with strollers and packages if necessary.
- Sweeping out the shuttle van on a daily basis and communicating when a deep clean is needed.
- Inspection of the van each day for damage and filling out a daily damage report.
- Keeping the shuttle log current and turning in daily to the Manager of Visitor Experience.
- Places and removes exterior signs as necessary at the beginning and end of the shift
- May also assist with traffic control outside the front gate or in our interior parking lot if necessary for a smooth visitor experience.
- The ability to work as part of a team and also take initiative independent of direct supervision.
- Multi taskers are welcome, being attentive to guests while remaining fluid to the needs of the day.
Qualifications
- Valid drivers’ license and at least 3 years driving experience. Professional driving experience a plus.
- High school diploma or associates degree.
- Must be energetic, enthusiastic, friendly and customer service-oriented
- Excellent communicator including telephone communication
- Must be available to work on weekends, holidays and evenings
- This position involves outdoor work while constantly moving, talking, smiling, listening, reaching and being on your feet for at least two consecutive hours. You must be able to lift 15 pounds
Flexible schedule includes weekend availability.
Rate of pay is $20.00 per hour
