Map

By Metro-North
Take the Hudson Line train to the Riverdale Station. Walking from the station, uphill at first, takes 15 minutes. Connect with the free shuttle to Wave Hill. For more information on the discount rail/discount admission package, visit MTA Away

By #1 Subway
Take the #1 subway northbound to the last stop—Van Cortlandt Park/West 242nd Street.

By Bus
Express bus service on the BXM1 runs between the East Side of Manhattan and Riverdale, and the BXM2 between the West Side of Manhattan and Riverdale. You may also take the BX7 or BX10 bus to West 252nd Street. The stop for Wave Hill on all lines is at 252nd Street and the Henry Hudson Parkway with only a 6-minute walk to the front gate.

By Car
Wave Hill’s onsite parking lot is open, and our offsite lot—the Riverdale Park Parking Lot—is only two minutes from Wave Hill’s front entrance by car if the onsite lot is full when you arrive.

School Buses & Commercial Vehicles

Commercial vehicles are not permitted on the Henry Hudson Parkway, but are permitted on the parkway service road. Weekday use of the Cross Bronx Expressway (to the Major Deegan Expressway northbound) is discouraged due to frequent congestion.

Bus passengers must disembark outside the Front Gate (4900 Independence Ave. at W. 249th St.) upon arriving at Wave Hill. Buses are not permitted on the grounds.

Trucks are advised to approach Wave Hill via Broadway and Mosholu Avenue (near W. 260th St.). Approaching via Riverdale Avenue from W. 230th Street, while suitable for buses, requires low clearance at the Manhattan College Parkway underpass (near W. 240th St. and the Henry Hudson Parkway). Over-height trucks must return to Broadway to navigate around this underpass. Do not attempt shortcuts; adjacent residential areas have narrow streets, tight turns, and commercial vehicle restrictions.

Deliveries are made to Wave Hill House through the back entrance at W. 252nd Street, unless otherwise directed.
