Celebrate the shroom boom with an imaginative and sensory evening of exploration, with an outdoor performance, communal four-course feast in majestic Armor Hall and lively conversation with Wave Hill's Associate Director of Horticulture Steven Conaway, PhD., and choreographer John Heginbotham. Don't miss out on this extraordinary evening; it promises to awaken your senses and leave you with a newfound appreciation for the world of fungi!

5:30PM Explore the Gardens
The evening begins in the gardens with the rare opportunity to explore this world-class horticultural destination after-hours.

6:00PM Outdoor Performance: You Look Like a Fun Guy
Dance Heginbotham presents their adventurous project based on avant-garde composer John Cage’s relationship with mushrooms. Watch as dancers embody the spirit of fungi, exploring the limitless creative possibilities of landscape and gardens. This work-in-progress performance is the culmination of Dance Heginbotham's two-week residency at Wave Hill.

6:45PM Conversation and Communal Dinner
Take your seat in majestic Armor Hall for a communal feast with Dance Heginbotham. Enjoy a delectable, four-course tasting menu highlighting the rich flavors and textures of mushrooms, and experience a cocktail created specifically for this unique evening. Join Wave Hill’s Steven Conaway, PhD, in conversation with choreographer John Heginbotham as they explore how mycology connects the world around us, including— closer to home—gardening holistically at places like Wave Hill and following the fascination of fungi into dance itself.

8:00PM Sip & Savor
Gather in Wave Hill House's historic Mark Twain Room to sip and savor the latest varieties of mushroom coffee and chocolate.

Rain brings performance indoors.

The Lower Lawn is accessible by a paved path that has a moderately steep slope, which is not ADA-compliant. Accessible bathrooms are available a few hundred feet from the Lower Lawn, as well as at the Perkins Visitor Center, located at the top of the slope. Closer to the preview date, the company will have a better sense of whether the dance can also be viewed from the Great Lawn and Pergola area, where wheelchair-accessible seating will be available. ADA-compliant restrooms are available in the Perkins Visitor Center and Wave Hill House.

Wave Hill House is located along a paved route with moderate changes in grade. The building is wheelchair-accessible. There is an accessible, ground-level entrance at the front of the building with a power-assist door. The restroom on the ground level is all-gender and ADA-compliant. Additional ADA-compliant restrooms are available on the lower level, which can be accessed by elevator.
