Birds of Prey (a.k.a. raptors) are charismatic and dramatic masters of the air. If you've ever been to a hawk watch, you've probably been amazed at the ability of the hawk-watchers to call out IDs of soaring raptors so distant that they look like specks on the horizon.

This virtual class will help you distinguish between accipiters, buteos, vultures, eagles and more! Learn how their shapes reflect their behavior and ecology, and how subtle differences in form and pattern will allow you to identify raptors with a newfound confidence, just in time for fall migration season.

Registration is required online or by calling 718.549.3200 x251. Questions? Please email us at information@wavehill.org or call the telephone number and extension above.

Wave Hill is a hotspot for migrating raptors! Throughout the season, join Gabriel Willow and our other expert birders and naturalists on a bird walk here at Wave Hill to see raptors and other fall migrants in action. Fall Birding dates: September 14, October 12 and November 9, plus our Nighthunters Owl Adventure on October 25!
