Winter Haven Opening Weekend

Experience some of the finest goods from local artisans and makers at the Artisan Market (Fri, Sat), a highlight each December. With more than 25 vendors, we're expanding this year to include vendors in iconic Glyndor Gallery. Returning this year is Sol Cacao single-origin chocolate, New York-based jewelry innovator Megan Patrice Riley, textile artist Jessie Zhao and our hands-down favorite, Hetta Glogg. Enjoy a Hudson Valley wine-tasting while finishing up your holiday list—and know that your purchases not only support these fine makers but Wave Hill and our educational and horticultural programming as well.

Wreathmaking sessions happen all weekend--but reserve now as space is limited!

The Nick Massimo Ensemble performs live jazz on the hour throughout the grounds all afternoon on Saturday and Sunday. Inclement weather will move the performances to Wave Hill House. Capture a seasonal memory with the gorgeous backdrop of the Conservatory at a festive Photo-Op near the Flower Garden. On the Great Lawn, take in a seasonal display of Wildlife Trees featuring natural and edible ornaments for our neighborhood birds. On Saturday afternoon, watch a pair of woodland creatures emerge from 200lb blocks of ice during a live Ice-Carving Demonstration with a guest artisan from Ice Memories. Sculptures will remain on view on the Great Lawn throughout the weekend, weather permitting. Stroll along the Great Lawn Balustrade to admire a fun and funky Wreath Display created by our talented Wave Hill staff and volunteers. Wreaths are on display from December 1 through 10. Families are invited to go on a special Scavenger Hunt to look for animal sculptures hidden in Wave Hill's great trees and other cozy garden areas. At the Family Art Project, families have a chance to make their own holiday candles.
