In the Herbert & Hyonja Abrons Woodland, a 1/2 mile trail ambles along the wooded slope below the formal lawns and gardens. Rustic benches and a gazebo offer quiet spots to rest and listen to the many species of birds that reside in our woodlands.

Tupelo (Nyssa sylvatica 'Pendula')
Valued for its tolerance of swampy soils, N. sylvatica is also one of the most attractive trees native to North America. 'Pendula' has low, drooping branches and a more compact habit than the species.
